32 Week Update

I am not even sure where to start. So much has happened this week. I went to see Dr. Sudela yesterday and he finally put me on modified bedrest. This means that I don't have to be in the bed lying flat all of the time but he does want me resting either in bed or on the couch. That means no more household duties, grocery shopping, or cooking for me... Sorry Josh :( He also said that I could still go to my maternity photoshoot and to my baby shower on February 6th but to try to stay home and relax for the rest of the pregnancy. As of now, Tucker is in a frank breech presentation. This means that his butt is down by the birth canal and his legs are pointed straight up in front of his body with his feet near his head. Dr. Sudela said there is a very large chance that he will not turn back around before the big day. This increases my risk of having a C-section. Keep your fingers crossed that the little stinker turns head first! Dr. Sudela doesn't feel like it is a good idea for me to go all the way to full term so he is planning on delivering Tucker sometime in the middle of February. This puts me somewhere between 36-38 weeks. At first I was really against induction but I am now to the point where I am ready for him to be born. I am getting more and more uncomfortable by the day. We will just have to wait and see how things go.
On a lighter note, we have almost finished Tucker's nursery!!! His furniture came in last week and it is absolutely gorgeous! I love to go in there and just stare at how good everything came together. We still have some work to do in there though. We have several things that we still need to hang on the wall. We are planning on getting the letters of his name painted so we can hang them above the crib. I am also waiting for the accessories that match his bedding. I also can't wait to get my glider and ottoman to go in the corner (for now we just have one of our dinner table chairs in it's place) We hope to have everything complete by the time the baby shower happens. Here is a sneak peek of the nursery. If you are wondering why there is a cat in some of the pictures it is because Diesel thinks that all of the furniture was purchased for him. It has been quite a challenge to keep him out of the crib and off of Tucker's changing table!! It is his new favorite place to nap. I don't blame him because it is sooooo soft! Oh well, I will just have to rewash everything before we bring little Tucker home from the hospital.

I sure hope Diesel enjoyed his nap... this won't happen again :)

It is so much more beautiful in person but you get the idea

Tucker's 3D/4D Sonogram 31 Weeks

Josh and I had Tucker's 3D/4D sonogram today!! I can't wait to show off all of these precious pictures!! He is sooooooooo cute!! When we first started the sonogram we did not think the little stinker was going to cooperate for us. He has somehow managed to flip into breech position again so his head is somewhere close to my left rib cage. When we first started the sonogram he had his legs and feet in front of his face. I am not exactly sure how this is even possible but he managed to contort his body so that his feet were over his head. After turning on my side and pushing on my stomach several times he finally decided to move his legs and feet and we saw his precious face for the first time. It was the most incredible experience Josh and I have experienced during the pregnancy. I could ramble on forever about how cute he is... but I won't. Here are several pictures from the sonogram so you can see for yourself. I can't wait to finally meet him.

That is his left foot by his forehead, crazy huh?
Josh and I couldn't be more excited to meet this little guy

This is one of my favorites. Look at those lips!

I love how he is posing for the camera with his little
hands under his chin

Tucker's Nursery

Josh & I painted Tucker's nursery tonight. It actually only took us about an hour. We still have a little touching up to do but it looks so good!! His furniture should be here in 4-7 days and I can't wait to see what it looks like once we get everything put together. I am so excited to put the bedding with his crib and see how everything comes together. I took a couple of pictures of the room once we got it painted. They aren't the best pictures in the world but you get the idea of what the color looks like next to his paisley bedding, so cute!!
I also posted a few pictures of the growing belly... I swear it gets a little bigger everyday.. It is such an amazing feeling everytime he gets hiccups or kicks. Today I felt him stretch his body completely out for the first time. I watched my whole belly move when he stretched, it was awesome!

The Sperling Christmas

I am sorry that it has been so long since I have posted anything on our blog. Josh and I bought ourselves a new HD digital camera/video camera for Christmas so now we are able to take really nice pictures. Now that we are able to take such great pictures I will be updating our blog more often from now on.

We had a wonderful, relaxing Christmas with our families. Everyone was very excited to see the growing belly :) Josh and I are getting more and more excited with each passing day. It seems like every day the baby bump grows a little bit bigger. I can't explain how awesome it is to feel him moving inside me (even though sometimes it really hurts). Below I have posted several pictures from our holiday celebration. There are some random pictures on here that I thought turned out really cute :)

Me & the huge belly... Remember that the camera adds at least 10 pounds :)

This is "Junior" in a Christmas stocking. He is the newest addition
at Mom's house. She has been bottle feeding him since he was 2 days old!

18 Weeks & Counting

To those of you who don't already know, Josh & I are expecting our 1st baby early next Spring!! I must say that this has been the most incredible & exciting thing that we have ever experienced. We found out at 12 weeks that is is a boy! We are sooooo excited to welcome baby Tucker into the world! His due date is March 9th, 2010 but babies only come when they are ready to make their grand appearance so we will have to wait and see what happens...

Last Wednesday I started experiencing the beginning of what some folks like to call "growing pains". Let me start by saying that whoever coined this term was not kidding around. To be quite honest it isn't the most comfortable thing to experience. It becomes pretty painful once your uterus starts stretching but Tucker and I are managing just fine. We are taking it one day at a time along with plenty of late afternoon naps. Once I started having these "growing pains" I went in for a sonogram. It is so amazing how much Tucker has grown and developed in the last 18 weeks. Here are a few things we got to see during the sonogram:

-The 4 chambers of the heart (ventricles & atria)
-The brain (cerebellum & several landmarks within the brain)
-The spine, both arms & legs, 10 tiny fingers, & 10 tiny toes
-The abdomen, both kidneys, & the stomach
-The bladder (it was full so this lets us know the kidneys are working)
-The scrotal sac (it is safe to say that it's definately a boy)

Here are a few pictures of the sonogram at 18 weeks gestation:

If you look closely you can see it!
